Year In Review

Welcome to the newest addition to our website.
Over the last few years, clients, former clients, friends, business associates and acquaintances have all asked the same question ;
How was your year ?

In summary, we had another banner year despite the economy and  some of the bottom feeder competitors out there.

January 2009

As with the last few January's, this month kicked off with the two day annual Maine Wedding Association Bridal Show at the Holiday Inn By the Bay in Portland.
This show consistently delivers the brides and the results ! Kudos to Joan Montgomery ! Attendance may have been lower than previous years, but the brides were out in full force eager to speak with the vendors.
Our affiliate company, Best Maine DJs, booth was busy with inquiries and appointments for the upcoming 2009 season.

Next, was four post- holiday parties for Margaritas Restaurants chain. First up was the Portsmouth Margaritas. This was our 3rd year DJ'ing their party at the VFW Hall in Portsmouth, NH.
Karaoke, and top 40 club music was the order of the night. The folks at Margaritas always put a great party on for their employees .

A day later we did the Margaritas Corporate party for the Managers, Office & Corporate staff at the Stage Neck Inn in York. This a beautiful facility with an elevator for an easy load in.
Exeter, and Manchester,  Margaritas were next  with parties in Portsmouth and Manchester. More Karaoke, dancing and giveaways for their very happy employees.

Continued booking 2009 weddings and did a nice late winter wedding at the Freedom Cafe in Naples, Maine.

April 2009

More meetings with 2009 brides & grooms and a return visit to Verrillo's in Portland, for the first large scale wedding of the 2009 season.
And on a very warm spring day, we traveled to the Roost in Buxton, Maine for a company party.

May 2009

The month began with a consultation for a 2009 wedding at Val Halla Country Club in Cumberland, Maine. Now, it is officially wedding season and we are off to a running start.
The American Legion Hall in Westbrook, Maine was the setting for an intimate wedding . This was followed by a festive, large scale wedding at Sunday River in Newry, Maine.
We are a preferred vendor at the Holiday Inn West and the Woodfords Club in Portland, Maine, and they kept us busy for 2009.

June 2009

Very busy month with bookings for 2010 and 8 weddings : Camp Ketcha ( another venue that we are a preferred vendor at ) in Scarborough was the site of a fun filled reception party with activities outside on the grounds and dancing and dining inside. The popular Gazebo in Mill Creek Park in South Portland was the site of a lovely, intimate ceremony/ reception the first Sunday in June.
Two weddings at the Dune Grass Inn in Old Orchard Beach, Maine followed over the next two weeks as well as return weddings at the Holiday Inn West and the Holiday in by the Bay.
The 1812 Farm in Bristol was the setting for a very charming wedding reception later in the month A private summer residence in Naples, Maine was the back drop for an intimate reception to close the month out.

July 2009

This was an interesting month due to how the bookings came in. Back to back dates on the 4th of July weekend at the beautiful Linekin Bay Resort in Boothbay Harbor and the Hilton Garden Inn in Freeport started the month off to a rocking start !  This was our 3rd time back to Linekin Bay and our debut at the Hilton Garden Inn . Both places do a fabulous job !
The following week saw a Thursday wedding at the Lakewood Inn in Skowhegan, Maine followed by a Friday ceremony/ reception at the Elks Lodge in Portsmouth, NH.
Saturday, the 11th was intentionally left open to rest up for our third weekend wedding on Sunday the 12th back at the Dune Grass Inn in Old Orchard Beach. A very nice and location for a special day.
Saturday, the 11th was also DJ Pat's 25th High School Reunion for Deering High School to be held on the Casco Bay Cruise Lines ( another preferred client ).
DJ Pat was asked to perform at the function in addition to attending. DJ Mark from Best Maine DJs filled the slot nicely.

August 2009

The first of 3 very busy months for Double Platinum Celebrations. The first weekend saw a trip to Concord, NH  for a festive wedding reception. In our continuing efforts to expand and network with quality DJs we met with DJs from Arizona and California to discuss future business ventures. A return visit to the Sebasco Estates in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport. Verrillo's in Portland, Val-Halla Country Club in Cumberland, Keeley the Katerer in Portland kept us quite busy.

The Annual Customer/ Associate Appreciation Day at Garden Street Market in Kennebunk was held with a fantastic turnout. A free cookout and music for the community of Kennebunk and the store's employees is always a great time. Year, by year, this event slowly gets bigger and bigger.

The Senator Inn in Augusta was a nice welcome return for Double Platinum Celebrations. It is always fun from a DJ perspective to be exposed to something new, and old.. song wise. Here , it was the " Bunny Hop."
August was rounded out with advance work and meetings for weddings done on the grounds at SMCC for a ceremony/ reception as well as what turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises of the season; The Brass Heart Inn, in Chocura, NH.

The 4th and final season concluded at Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine. This is a world renowned non-profit organization that does incredible things to aid children with terminal ailments.
Families from all over the United States come to Camp Sunshine for the love, warmth, understanding, support and education they receive there.
